I have completely redesigned
my AFTERMATH™ heavy-duty tactical folder
and it is now called The AXD™ (AFTERMATH
Xtreme Duty.)
The AXD™ 5.5 is the
first knife in the line and it incorporates all
the design updates I’ve done in the last
two years. When I introduced the original AFTERMATH™,
its strength, size and tough character made it
an instant classic.
Now after two years of hard
use in the field, I’ve been able to update
it with multiple design, engineering and construction
improvements to send it out again for extreme duty.
The AXD™ 5.5 prototype
was carefully redesigned in consultation with one
of my customers, a S.W.A.T officer, and it was
built to provide an absolutely secure grip even
if covered with blood. This was a tough thing to
think about and design for, but the AXD™ is
built for exactly those real life situations that
we depend upon other strong rough men to handle
for us. The AXD™ is the knife they count
on when everything else fails.
The first design improvement
is in the new three-dimensionally carved handles.
I now offer you three handle options for the AXD™
(1) The SG GRIP™ is
carved into the titanium frame of the AXD™.
The deep, variegated structure of these grooves
shown in the photos below improve your grip even
in wet work and maintain a slim profile with great
strength. I’ve also placed my SURE GRIP II™ internal
grippers throughout the frame to guarantee you’ll
be able to hold on to this knife when you need
to. Look for those in the photos above, second
row, furthest on the right.
(2) The Inlaid MAXX GRIP 3D™ incorporates
some of the primary carving provided with the 3D
GROOVED GRIP™ and I add an inlaid synthetic
grip (G10 or Carbon Fiber) which I set precisely
into a pocket on the frame to hold it securely
and permanently. I deeply carve the inlays in three
dimensions to provide gripping action to all surfaces
of your hand in all positions. I also add the SURE
GRIP II™ internal grippers to this style.
I have also improved the classic
frame lock design especially for the AXD™.
I have engineered a new proprietary lock-up interface
that I build standard into every AXD™. When
your AXD™ blade is open and locked, it stays
locked and there are no situations where human
strength will fold it closed onto your fingers.
This complete overhaul makes
the AXD™ the toughest custom made tactical
folder in the world. With an S30V® blade and
the SAO™ semi-automatic opening system, no
other custom tactical folder even comes close to
it.
AXD™ Manual Or Semi-Automatic
The AXD™ is available
standard as a manually operated folder, or with
the Spring Assisted Opening SAO™ system.
The semi-automatic version,
dubbed the SAO™, is similar to a switchblade
or automatic knife, just as fast, and legal in
most states.
The AXD™ is the heavy-duty
semi switchblade you’ve been looking for,
in the design package that police and combat professionals
depend on.
